Physiotherapy

I have been a state-certified physiotherapist since 1994 and have worked on disorders of the musculoskeletal system for more than thirty years.

How a physiotherapy session works

As in chiropractic: detailed case history, postural examination, movement tests, palpation. The treatment then follows from what the examination shows.

Every condition needs something different

A hip replacement is not treated like a calcified shoulder, tennis elbow not like the aftermath of knee surgery. The same applies to neurological conditions.

People come to me with pain in every joint, muscle, tendon and ligament, with disc problems, with every kind of fracture, with the whole range of neurological conditions, through to pelvic floor training after prostate surgery and post-natal exercises.

Neurological conditions

Common ones: stroke, multiple sclerosis, peripheral and central nerve damage, congenital neurological conditions. We work on balance, movement and sensation – on the couch, sitting, standing, on stairs, on the trampoline, with gait training, transfers and nerve stimulation. These are often long-term courses, once or twice a week, sometimes over years. Relatives and carers are involved and instructed.

Exercises for home

You leave with exercises suited to your condition. My guiding principle: achieve a lot with little effort, rather than the other way round.

Functional analysis after Dr Brügger

One technique among many, but for me an essential addition: its own assessment, targeted treatment and specific exercises.

With or without a prescription

You may come without a prescription. If you have one, note that a German prescription is required for billing to a German insurer; foreign prescriptions cannot be settled this way. Mine is a private practice, and we clarify the billing before the first appointment.

Why people come

Back and neck pain, disc herniation, cervical, thoracic and lumbar syndromes, calcified shoulder, impingement syndrome, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, heel spur, knee pain, meniscus problems, craniomandibular dysfunction, dizziness, sports injuries, vertebral blockages, tinnitus, tension headaches and many others.

The conditions mentioned here are examples of application. They are in no way a promise of cure, and treatment is not advisable in every case.
