Paediatric osteopathy
When a baby cries for weeks with no apparent reason, always turns its head to the same side, or will not feed on one breast, parents are often exhausted and at a loss. Many come to me then – some on their midwife’s advice, some after a word from the paediatrician, some simply because they do not know what else to do.
Why parents come
- unexplained bouts of crying
- positional asymmetries and the skull deformities that follow from them
- KISS syndrome
- sleeping difficulties
- feeding difficulties, for example when the child feeds less well on one side
- colic and digestive problems
- delays in motor or cognitive development
When the birth was difficult
Caesarean section, ventouse delivery, a very long or very fast labour: these leave their mark, on the child and on the mother. I ask about the pregnancy, the course of the birth and the first days – intensive care, incubator, worrying readings.
I treat mothers too. Back pain from carrying, from feeding, from the birth itself. And if the birth was experienced as traumatic, we can talk about it.

From the first day of life.
How a session works
A session usually lasts an hour. I mostly treat babies on my lap or in their mother’s arms. The techniques are very gentle and come from osteopathy, craniosacral therapy and physiotherapy.
Parents are involved. I explain a great deal, because you are with your child every day and I am there for an hour.
What the first appointment covers
A detailed case history above all: pregnancy, birth, the first period afterwards.
What you take home
Exercises for home and handling advice – how to carry, lay down and change your child. And, where it makes sense, information about baby carriers, feeding and sleep.
Working together
I work with paediatricians and midwives. Paediatric osteopathy does not replace paediatric care; it complements it.
