Sports physiotherapy

I have worked with athletes since the beginning of my career – with recreational athletes as well as professionals, across all kinds of sport: football, handball, tennis, cycling, free climbing, golf, the gym.

Why athletes come to me

Essentially with the whole range:

  • Acute injuries after a sports accident – fractures, muscle, fibre, ligament and tendon tears
  • After an operation, when load capacity has to be built up again
  • Overuse complaints – pain in joints, muscles and tendons, acute, chronic or recurring

The third group is by far the largest. Strong, sport-specific loads repeated again and again, especially when the necessary balance is missing, can lead to a pain syndrome over time. My task is to analyse it and to treat it.

When you can start again

This is the question almost everyone asks: when can I train again, when can I compete again?

Everyone decides that for themselves. I give you my personal assessment, openly and to the best of my knowledge – what you make of it remains your decision.

How I treat

The path to the findings is the same as in physiotherapy: a detailed case history, posture assessment, movement tests, palpation. Only then is the treatment decided.

The approach depends on the findings and on the sport. The load in climbing is different from the load in football – and that also determines what you practise at home.

Depending on the findings, chiropractic, osteopathy or craniosacral therapy are used as well. I am not committed to a single method.

Exercises for home

Every treatment includes exercises tailored to your complaints and to your sport.

My principle: to change a lot with little effort, not the other way round. Two exercises you actually do are worth more than ten on a sheet of paper.

Appointments and fees

You come as an individual – you do not need to belong to a club. Nor do you need a prescription; if there is one, it can only be a private prescription.

Appointments are made by telephone on +49 160 50 55 374, Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. For fees and reimbursement you will find answers under frequently asked questions.

The complaints named here are examples of application. They are in no way a promise of cure, and treatment is not indicated in every case.
